Who
we are
We
are a
community of
business owners
and farmers
who are
practicing and
advocating
Fair Trade
Principles in the
coffee industry.
We see Fair Trade as a business approach to achieve justice and
peace in our society and in our environment.
Coffee For Peace, as a business corporation and as a
community, includes:
:: A Board of Directors who are made up of business executives,
community leaders, creative communication professionals, and
academics.
They are all committed to advance the three pronged
advocacy-promise of Coffee For Peace: to help alleviate the lives of the
farmers
and their
families; to protect and enhance
the environment; and, to support the peacebuilders
in the field.
:: A management team led by a business talent with 20 years of
world-class financial planning experience in Canada. She is
a degree
holder in Food Service Administration and a coffee connoisseur.
:: The wisdom, knowledge, and experience of a dedicated
agricultural engineer who has been in this field for 20 years.
:: A community-network of well-trained and
justly-treated farmers who supplies us with their produce at fair traded
prices.
What we
dream of
The balanced
composition of three triangles bound in a circle—which
represents the half section of a coffee bean (our iconic product)—symbolizes our dreams and aspirations for Mindanao.
The half coffee bean is Mindanao. Our island is typically mountainous and diverse in terrain, rich in
bounty and produce. The three triangles represent the Tri-People
of our beautiful island—Indigenous People, Bangsamoro, Migrants—living in harmony with one another, helping each
other, and caring for the environment.
We see the future of the Tri-People through the lenses of faith,
hope, and love. The Tri-People of Mindanao mutually promotes peace and prosperity so that the
present and the next coming generations will live better lives and will ultimately experience
its calling—Mindanao, the
Land of Promise.
